Excerpt for 'The Refugees'
We all came from refugees
Nobody simply just appeared,
Nobody's here without a struggle,
And why should we live in fear
Of the weather or the troubles?
We all came here from somewhere.

My younger brother, who I only see twice a month, once asked me to teach him the alphabet in sign language. After working hard all day, he had mastered it. My dad later told me that a new girl came to my brother's school and was deaf. It made him sad that she had no friends, so he wanted to reach out to her. He was only six. My baby brother GMH.
Today , I watched the news in Taiwan about the flood/hurricane crisis. When one guy heard that helicopters couldnt get to the villages in time to delivery much needed food , he rode his bike in the heavy rain for 10 miles to get his truck and delivered the goods himself in the heavy rain. The man is 80 years old. GMH
I was in line to get a sandwich and saying to my friend that I felt fat, having gained 10 pounds this summer because of a medical condition i'm getting surgery for soon. The man behind the counter, a very cute teenage guy, gave me my drink for free. When I asked him why, he replied that "he was a sucker for beautiful girls" and winked. He GMH
